COVID Safe Policy

At Better Bodies Massage Therapist Jess has undertaken a lot of research and reading over the past months, and continues to as the pandemic evolves each week. She has been listening intensely to the Government advise and advice handed down by her association (AMT).

Now as we begin to return to the new normal we can begin to return to Remedial massage. But safety of clients and therapists is paramount! Changes in the way that the Better bodies clinic operates have been made. New protocols and procedures have been changed or created to best suit operating during a pandemic.

IN THE CLINIC AND TREATMENT ROOM;

  • Common areas like Reception and Bathrooms are kept clean and sanitised after each clients (Chiropractor and massage therapist) treatment.

  • We are minimising the number of clients to 1 waiting in reception. Others are asked to stay in their cars.

  • At all times there will be soap and water provided in each bathroom stall and hand sanitiser at reception and Better Bodies treatment room for all visitors, clients, staff and Therapist to utilise.

  • Hospital grad disinfectant is used in common areas and treatment room.

  • Appointment times will be spaced out 30-45 minutes for adequate cleaning, disinfecting and minimums numbers in the clinic.

MASSAGE BOOKINGS;

  • Client will be sent a COVID-19 intake screening form to complete prior to confirmation on day of appointment and entering the clinic. Client will also be asked to consider if they would prefer to wear a mask during their massage OR if they would like the therapist to wear a mask instead/also. Click here to see form.

  • At this time no new clients will be able to make appointments. (This is subject to change in coming months.)

  • Client is encouraged to have the COVIDSafe app on their phone for the duration of their time at the clinic.

CLIENT WITH HIGHER RISK OF INFECTION;

COVID19 is a new disease. With what is known so far there are many people who are at higher risk of infection.

Careful considerations need to be taking for these people when proceeding with a massage treatment during a pandemic. Therapists need to determine whether ‘hands on’ massage therapy treatment is right for these clients.

If a client is in one of these high risk categories Jess may advise you to reconsider an appointment at this time, for the safety of you, therapist and others in the community. Jess can speak to you individually about these factors as together we may be able take extra measures for your massage.

Please read through the list below to determine whether you fall into any of these categories.

Categories for higher risk of infection;

Over 70yrs, Severe obesity, Chronic lung disease, Asthma, Heart conditions,  Immunocompromised (including Cancer treatment, smoking, bone marrow or organ transplant, immune deficiencies, prolonged use of Corticosteroids and other immune weakening medications), Diabetes, Chronic Kidney and liver diseases, living in a nursing home or long term care facility, or being in close contact/caring for someone who has any of the above conditions.

COVID-19 INTAKE SCREENING FORM;

  • This is a very important document. and needs to filled out correctly prior to massage commencement.

  • A new form will need to be completed before every appointment going forward.

  • Included in this form are questions regarding your health, recent travel, and your close contacts. Click here to see form.

For any more information or if you have any other questions please contact Jess and she can help you out.
