A message to my clients

Hi everyone!
The time has come for me to return to massage. YAHOO!

COVID19 has changed all our lives these past few months in many ways. Some more than others. Our house has not been immune to these challenges. After finishing up in late March I became Mrs teacher Mum (teachers are amazing people BTW!). Thankfully the kids have returned to school and daycare. We were notified of a COVID19 case detected at our daughter's childcare centre in late April. This really made the situation feel real to our family, I am greatful I had made the decison not to re-open too early.  I was so glad I didn't have to call everyone I'd seen to inform them I may have been infected.
I have undertaken a lot of research and reading since finishing up and have been listening intensely to the advice handed down by my association (AMT). Many articles read, webinars watched and Government website scrolling.
Changes have been made, protocols and procedures are in place. Safety is my first priority!
I believe through all my risk assessments that I have developed a plan to minimise the risk of infection in my clinic.

Im planning to return as of July. Are you excited!?!

You will notice I have made many changes in how I operate, the layout of the clinic and my treatment room and how you are assessed prior to each treatment.
Returning in July also brings with it school holidays. Unfortunately this will limit my hours the first few weeks as I need to care for my son. My hours will gradually increase over the coming months as my availability improves.

I will be leaving a 30-45min gap between all appointments for correct and adequate cleaning and disinfecting. This leaves me with less appointments per day to. Please be patient when booking an appointment, and prepare to be flexible with times, I'll do my best to accomodate what I can.

Making appointments

If you are interested in an appointment please contact me and i'll run you through a few requirements and answer any questions. Prior to each appointment you will be asked to complete a COVID19 intake screening form. This will ask if you have travelled recently, if you are showing any cold/flu symptoms or have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive to COVID19.
It is my highest priority to ensure both you and I are comfortable it is safe for your massage to proceed on the day of your appointment. Obviously I need to be symptom free also!

Some new things to consider...

I will also ask you about the use of a face mask. I have made the informed decision to not wear a mask during every massage treatment at this time. I have masks and want to give you the choice. I will wear a mask if you would prefer me too and you can wear a mask if you prefer too. You will need to supply your own mask.

Even with all these precautions in place some people are more vulnerable and fall into a higher risk category for infection. Careful considerations need to be taken for these clients when proceeding with a massage treatment.

If you are in one of these high risk categories I may advise you to reconsider an appointment at this time, for the safety of you, myself and others in the community. I can speak to you individually about these factors as we may be able take extra measures for your massage.

Categories for higher risk of infection; (taken from health.gov.au)

Over 70 years of age, Severe obesity, Chronic lung disease, Asthma, Heart conditions,  Immunocompromised (including Cancer treatment, smoking, bone marrow or organ transplant, immune deficiencies, prolonged use of Corticosteroids and other immune weakening medications), Diabetes, Chronic Kidney and liver diseases, living in a nursing home or long term care facility, or being in close contact/caring for someone who has any of the above conditions.

I will not be seeing new clients for the time being.

Clinic changes...

Robyn our practice Manager and all staff are working to keep all common areas of the clinic clean. Hand sanitiser is available in reception on arrival and common surfaces and bathrooms are being disinfected after each client has left the building to minimise risk.

Robyn has been limiting the number of people in the clinic, with only one client/patient in reception at a time. I encourage you where possible to stay in your car in the carpark when you arrive and you can call or text me and I will come out and greet you in the carpark if needed.

If you'd like some more information on my policies and procedures, you can click on the COVIDSafe Policy page of the website. Happy to have a chat over the phone also.

I look forward to speaking to you all and seeing you in the clinic. Can't wait to get back!
Jess
